Slott Shares His Thoughts on the Liverpool Derby: “Emotions Overwhelmed Me”
On Wednesday, Liverpool allowed Everton to escape with a draw thanks to a goal in the dying moments of injury time (2:2). Shortly after, midfielder Curtis Jones and manager Arne Slott were both shown red cards.
The Reds’ manager voiced his frustrations to referee Michael Oliver, resulting in his dismissal and a two-match suspension.
Now, he expresses regret over his actions…
“Emotions got the better of me. If I could turn back time, I would handle it differently,” Slott shared.
He also feels the referee’s decision-making process took longer than necessary.
“They indicated five minutes of added time, but we played for eight. That’s quite excessive. My reaction was inappropriate; however, this is an emotional sport, and sometimes individuals, including myself, make mistakes,” Slott acknowledged.
