Buducnost vs. Iskra: Semifinal Showdown
The players of Buducnost are set to kick off their first official match of 2025 in the quarterfinals of the Montenegrin Cup. On Saturday at 1 PM, they will face Iskra in Tuzi.
This match was originally scheduled for November 2024 and then moved to December. It faced delays on two occasions: first due to Buducnost’s youth team participating in the Champions League qualifiers, and secondly due to adverse weather conditions.
“This is a highly significant match for both the team and the club, which is why we are treating it with the utmost seriousness and diligence. We understand the importance of the Cup quarter-finals, and everything hinges on those 90 minutes; we cannot afford any mistakes,” stated Ivan Brnović, the coach of Buducnost.
He continued discussing Iskra, a team from the second league based in Danilovgrad.
“Iskra possesses a youthful and talented squad, albeit with limited experience. The average age is around 20, and they have several players from youth national teams. They have earned our respect, and we will definitely approach this match with the seriousness it deserves, as we aim to advance,” Brnović emphasized.
On Tuesday, the remaining participants in the Cup semi-finals will be determined when another postponed match takes place between Petrovac and Rudar.
Earlier, Dečić AdmiralBet and Mornar secured their spots in the semifinals.
