Meeting of the Coordination Body for Harmonizing and Monitoring Inspection Oversight

The second session of the Coordination Body responsible for harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight took place today, presided over by Milun Zogović, the Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development and President of the Coordination Body. The session addressed the following agenda items:

  • Proposal of the Rules of Procedure for the Coordination Body’s harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight;
  • Review of annual reports for the year 2024;
  • Information on annual work plans for 2025;
  • Review of monthly reports for January 2025;
  • Proposal for establishing a working group to prepare for the summer tourist season;
  • Information regarding access to the Unified Inspection Information System (JIIS).

The Coordination Body members unanimously accepted the Rules of Procedure, along with the annual reports for 2024 from the following inspection agencies: Environmental Inspection, Educational Inspection, Labor Inspection, Occupational Safety Inspection, Tourism Inspection, Market Inspection, Housing Inspection, Geodetic Inspection, Meteorological Inspection, Geological and Mining Inspection, Hydrocarbon Inspection, Budget Inspection, Gambling Inspection, Public Procurement Inspection, Social and Child Protection Inspection, Sports Inspection, Health and Sanitary Inspection, Maritime Safety Inspection, Postal Services Inspection, Cultural Heritage Inspection, Archival Services Inspection, Information Society Services Inspection, Road Transport Inspection, Forestry and Hunting Inspection, Phytosanitary Inspection, Water Inspection, Food Inspection, Fisheries Inspection, Veterinary Inspection, and Agricultural Inspection.

The Coordination Body reviewed and acknowledged the published work plans from the relevant inspection entities for the year 2025.

Additionally, the Coordination Body approved a standardized format for monthly report submissions, instructing all inspection services to submit their reports by the 10th of each month. This measure will facilitate timely insight into inspection activities and outcomes.

To boost the efficiency and effectiveness of inspections in the upcoming summer tourist season, the Coordination Body has decided to form a working group dedicated to this preparation. The main goal of this group is to ensure that the necessary conditions for comprehensive inspection oversight are in place throughout the summer period.

During the session, discussions included the implementation of the Unified Inspection Information System, tackling potential challenges and solutions to enhance the efficiency and operational capabilities of the relevant inspections. Representatives from the Ministry of Public Administration participated in this part of the meeting.

Milun Zogović, President of the Coordination Body, reiterated that the body, which was established on December 25, 2024, will actively oversee and evaluate the functions of all inspection services. This will be implemented through regular reviews of inspection agencies’ reports and oversight activities.

To facilitate this approach, we are instituting a requirement for monthly reporting, which will furnish continuous insights into the functioning of inspection services. With reliable data, we will be equipped to issue prompt recommendations and opinions regarding the organization and planning of inspection oversight at the Coordination Body level.
