On February 18, Italian President Sergio Mattarella is set to visit Montenegro officially, invited by President Jakov Milatović.
The reception will take place at the Residence in Cetinje, accompanied by the highest state and military honors, followed by discussions between the two leaders.
After signing the guest book and meeting with both delegations, the presidents will make public statements and plant a friendship tree in the Residence’s courtyard.
Additionally, they will inaugurate the exhibition titled “Montenegro and Italy: Meeting of Two Nations” at the Ministry of Culture.
President Milatović will also host a gala lunch in honor of his Italian counterpart.
“This upcoming official visit showcases the outstanding relations between Montenegro and Italy. It continues President Milatović’s robust diplomatic efforts to promote Montenegro on the international stage. Additionally, the visit from the Italian President, representing a G7 member that actively supports our European aspirations through the ‘Friends of the Western Balkans’ initiative, serves as a significant positive signal for Montenegro’s journey towards full EU membership by 2028,” announced Milatović’s office.
