Jadran Hands Champion Their First Loss and Secures Second Place
A remarkable achievement for the Jadran M:tel water polo team, marking a milestone that no team has reached this season in the regional Premier League.
The squad from Novi Beograd triumphed over their namesakes with a score of 13:9 at Škver, handing them their first loss after an impressive 14 consecutive victories.
Vladimir Gojković’s team asserted their dominance against the favorites, demonstrating readiness from the outset, and after this victory, they moved into second place in the standings – boasting a match in hand and a point lead over Jadran from Split, who will visit Jug on Saturday.
This win not only boosted the Jadran team’s standing but also reinforced their position among the Top 4, vying for a spot in the Final Four, led by Vasilije Radović, Jovan Vujović, Matija Sladović, and Strahinja Gojković, each contributing two goals.
Dmitrij Holod, Danilo Radović, Đorđe Lazić, Vuk Milojević, and Danilo Stupar each added one goal for the Serbian squad.
For the visitors, Miroslav Perković, a player from the Montenegrin national team, managed to score once, while Đuro Radović was unable to find the net.
