Construction Commences on the Congress Hall at Nikšić House of Revolution.
The congress hall in the Nikšić House of Revolution is set for completion in 210 days, as announced by Maja Đurović Delić from the Capital Projects Administration during the official commencement of the works.
She noted that the investment is valued at approximately 2.3 million euros and that this project is part of several initiatives being carried out by the Capital Projects Administration in collaboration with the Municipality of Nikšić.
“This project held exceptional significance last year, as it formed part of our pre-application documentation when we sought candidacy for the European Capital of Culture. The inclusion of this project, among others, and the assurance of its completion by year-end greatly contributed to our success in reaching the finals of that candidacy. This venue will serve all cultural institutions in the Municipality of Nikšić, as well as state institutions, and will be instrumental not only for local governance and our city but for the entire state of Montenegro, as it will allow us to host events of the highest caliber,” stated Marko Kovačević, Mayor of the Municipality.
He added that the work on the Digital Revolution House is nearing completion, and a portion of the Revolution House has been allocated through a public call for adaptation in the near future.
“Now, we have this multifunctional hall, which serves as the centerpiece of this facility. What remains for us to address in the future are the two towers at the top, which is also part of our narrative surrounding the European Capital of Culture. As a Municipality, we intend to collaborate with the state on a project to create the first House of Digital Art in the Balkans, positioning Nikšić as a unique spot in this region of the European continent,” Kovačević explained.
The Municipality of Nikšić has signed contracts with the Capital Projects Administration regarding the transfer of certain capital project implementations from the state capital budget to its own budget for the congress hall project.
“We have successfully completed over 40 projects, with more than 40 others currently in the implementation stage or set to commence within the last three years. It is particularly significant for us to finalize the renovation of the House of Revolution, aiming for its completion by 2030, when I hope Nikšić will be recognized as the European Capital of Culture, making the House of Revolution a finalized aspect of our construction narrative,” the Mayor remarked.
The contractor for the congress hall is “LD gradnja”.
