The Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Mining, Oil and Gas are set to merge once again, with Admir Šahmanović, the current head of the Ministry of Mining, Oil and Gas, expected to lead the newly consolidated department, according to reports from “Vijesti”.
Since the end of December, the Minister of Energy position has remained vacant following Saša Mujović’s election as mayor of Podgorica.
This upcoming merger comes just eight months after the Mining, Oil and Gas Directorate was previously split from the Ministry of Energy during the latest government reorganization.
Sources for “Vijesti” suggest that a new Ministry of Public Works will also be established, to be led by Majda Adžović.
Additionally, the Directorate for Public Investments will be reassigned from the Ministry of Finance to this new department.
Adžović currently serves as State Secretary in the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property.
This proposal has already been submitted to the Assembly.
