The “Lionesses” secured a win in their preparatory match for EHF Euro 2024! The Montenegrin handball team triumphed over Slovenia in Ajdovščina with a score of 29:28, providing an optimistic preview for their opening game at EHF Euro 2024 against Serbia, set for November 29.
Under the leadership of Suzana Lazović, the team secured the win against a squad coached by our former coach Dragan Adžić, courtesy of a stellar performance in the final moments of the match.
Slovenia was leading at halftime with a score of 15:11, and by the 46th minute, they were ahead 23:16. However, Montenegro answered back, scoring 13 goals and conceding only five in the closing stretch, clinching victory against a team that recently competed at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Captain Milena Raičević was instrumental in the win, netting seven goals, while Ivona Pavićević added six. Tatjana Brnović and Đurđina Jauković each contributed four goals.
Dijana Mugoša scored three goals, and Nina Bulatović and Matea Pletikosić each contributed two, with Katarina Džaferović also finding the net.
The Lionesses will have a joint training session with Slovenia tomorrow before heading to Hungary. Next Friday, they will kick off their EHF Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia, aiming to defend the bronze medal they secured two years ago.
