Today, Manchester City faced Leyton Orient and emerged victorious with a score of 2-1, albeit with some difficulty, securing their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.
Despite falling behind 1-0, the “Citizens” rallied in the second half to net two goals, avoiding an upset and moving on in the tournament.
The match opened with an opportunity for the visitors, but Gundogan squandered his chance. The home side took the lead in the 16th minute when Donley struck from near the center, hitting the crossbar. The ball rebounded off goalkeeper Ortega and into the net.
This set the tone for a challenging match for City. The visitors maintained the initiative, with Savinjo and Marmuš unable to capitalize on their opportunities, while Perkins was off-target as the first half drew to a close.
In the second half, City found their equalizer. A corner led to a brief combination of passes, and Luis fired a shot that was deflected by Husanov, resulting in a goal.
Following the equalizer, McCarty struck the post, and Gundogan missed another opportunity. Then De Bruyne was introduced and scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute, securing the win.
