Through Amendments, I’ve Secured Extra Funding to Support the Continued Development of Nikšić

Anđela Vojinović, a Member of Parliament from the Democratic Montenegro Party, stated today that when we proposed projects for the 2025 Budget, we were driven by the belief that public funds should benefit citizens rather than a select few.

“Our objective was straightforward – to ensure that every euro is allocated where it is most essential, to rectify long-standing inequities, and to enable citizens to experience tangible improvements in their daily lives. We particularly emphasized the need for balanced development across all municipalities in Montenegro. In this regard, Nikšić, as the largest municipality, holds particular importance. Thus, I have supported three amendments, which, along with dedicated efforts by the city administration, will provide additional funding not only for the renovation of the Children’s Dispensary but also for other projects included in the capital budget. This will promote the ongoing growth of our city,” Vojinović highlighted in her remarks.

She noted that the first project focuses on advancing the construction of Jezerski put street, the most frequented road during the summer months that leads to Lake Krupac.

“The second initiative entails the reconstruction of a section of the local road from Donje Crkvica to Gornje Crkvica, at the former border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Revamping this roadway would significantly improve the daily lives of residents in these villages, particularly regarding access to medical services. The third project pertains to the development of project documentation for Straševska, Željeznička, and Stubička streets in Kličevo, one of Nikšić’s largest urban areas. This neighborhood houses two kindergartens and a school but continues to struggle with inadequate infrastructure. I submitted this amendment with the goal of resolving a long-standing issue and ensuring a dignified living environment for all its inhabitants,” Vojinović stated.

According to her, with the backing of its citizens and the relentless efforts of the local government, Nikšić will continue to grow and evolve in a manner that reflects its historical and economic significance.
