The President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković, denounced the “invasion” of Matica Srpska by students last night, referring to them as “anarchists”.
She described the incident as “an incursion by a faction of anarchists, spearheaded by the leaders of the anti-Serbian coalition, who have been targeting Vojvodina and Matica Srpska recently.”
“The assault on the oldest institution for Serbs, coinciding with the St. Sava Academy, sends a clear political signal of disrespect for Matica Srpska, the Serbian people, and our traditions. This is an affront to the Serbian population and represents the lowest form of actions from separatists who are undermining Serbia. The state will respond firmly,” she asserted.
She further stated that “the intent behind this attack is to overtly showcase anti-state behavior and disdain for both Serbia and the Serbian people.”
