“We’ll Approach Every Game Like It’s the Championship”
The European Women’s Handball Championship kicks off today at 18:00, with Montenegro set to take the court on Friday.
The Lionesses will commence their continental campaign with a match against Serbia in Debrecen at 20:30. In their group stage, they will also compete against Romania on Sunday at 20:30 and face the Czech Republic on Tuesday at 18:00.
“We are excited to begin the championship. We will be playing against Serbia, a team we’ve faced twice in the qualifiers, so we have a clear understanding of what to expect,” stated goalkeeper Marina Rajčić.
“I’ve played alongside several Serbian players in various clubs and I know the level of talent they possess. They are coached by Uroš Bregar, which makes this a challenging match as it marks the opening of the tournament. Nevertheless, we will approach each game as if it’s the final and give it our all,” Rajčić added.
Montenegro is on a quest to defend their European bronze medal.
“I always have faith in our potential for success; I would never enter a championship without that belief. Though there have been times when the results didn’t align, I trust that the right outcomes occur at the right moments. I am hopeful that this will be the case once again,” concluded Marina Rajčić.
