CAUTION: Beware of Clickbait Campaigns Aiming at Social Media Users
The CIRT alerts the public to an ongoing “clickbait” campaign on social media that is exploiting the branding of local information portals and public figures from Montenegro. These campaigns employ sensational headlines and eye-catching images to entice users into clicking on dubious websites that host fake content generated by artificial intelligence.
We urge users to stay alert and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Should you come across this banner on social media platforms, do not click on it and avoid providing any personal information.
- Refrain from making payments on questionable websites.
- Do not open links from suspicious messages on social networks.
- Pay close attention to the content of messages, as phishing attempts often contain grammatical mistakes.
It’s important to remember that a reputable institution will never ask users to share confidential information or submit documents through social media.
