A surprising turn for Napoli as they ended in a draw with Udinese at home during the 24th round of Serie A (1:1).
This marks Napoli’s second consecutive draw, following a similar result against Roma in the previous round (1:1). Consequently, Inter has the opportunity to narrow the point difference to just one tomorrow, as they host Fiorentina.
They matched Napoli’s record of seven Serie A victories but broke that streak last round with a draw in Rome, only to remain winless again tonight.
Napoli took an early lead in the 37th minute when Politano’s corner was headed into the net by McTominay.
However, just four minutes later, Udinese equalized with a stunning shot from Ekelenkamp from about 16 meters out. This goal came after a lackluster clearance from Napoli’s defense.
Midway through the second half, Neres attempted to threaten from distance, and in the 70th minute, Angisa squandered a good opportunity to score.
Tonight’s result marked Udinese’s first away unbeaten match against Napoli in Serie A since 2013, ending a streak of 10 games.
