Montenegro and Romania are keen on enhancing tourist exchange; however, this necessitates the establishment of direct flights between the two nations, as discussed during the meeting between Tourism Minister Sinonida Kordić and Romanian Ambassador Viorel Ardeleanu.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that Kordić recommended exploring this prospect with officials from the Ministry of Transport and Montenegro Airport, noting that similar initiatives have yielded positive results.
The meeting concluded that increasing the promotion of Montenegro’s offerings in the Romanian market is essential.
Kordić expressed satisfaction with the current collaboration, highlighting the potential for improvement, which requires more effective communication between the tourism sectors.
“Montenegro and Romania have a longstanding good relationship, free of any disputes. We are also very appreciative of your support in our European aspirations. We hope Montenegro will achieve EU membership by 2028, which will influence our standing on the global tourism map,” stated Kordić.
She further noted that this lays a solid foundation for reinforcing ties in the tourism sector.
Ardeleanu reaffirmed his support for Montenegro and extended an invitation to Kordić for an official visit to Romania, whenever possible.
He emphasized the need to better capitalize on the potential of religious tourism, as there are already groups of Romanian tourists visiting the Ostrog Monastery.
