Montenegrin Prime Minister Addresses Cetinje Massacre: “No Religious or Ethnic Motive Behind the Violence” – News
Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, remarked, “The tragedy in Cetinje is a significant burden for our state and it is crucial for us to come together as a nation,” following a high-level national security session.
Spajic expressed that this was one of the most challenging national security sessions he has attended, as reported by News.
He also took a moment to express his gratitude on behalf of Montenegrin media, praising their professionalism. “I am truly proud of the media. In moments like these, it is vital for us to unite as a nation in our grief,” said Spajic.
As a parent and brother, he expressed understanding of the various emotions involved and acknowledged the immense weight this situation bears on the state.
“After assessing the situation, we derived several conclusions regarding the steps to take moving forward. It was a medical issue involving an individual with psychiatric problems. A tragic occurrence that involved a health aspect—someone who had the ability to harm his sister and two young children. I want to dispel certain narratives; this was not motivated by religious or ethnic factors,” Spajic emphasized.
