After enduring serious injuries, Đurđina Jauković has made a remarkable comeback, having torn the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee twice within two years.
Returning to the “lionesses” after her recovery, the outstanding Montenegrin handball player demonstrated her skills by scoring 11 goals against Serbia at the EHF Euro opener (24:18), while also maintaining her strong defensive presence.
“I went through a truly challenging time, but with the support of my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone who believed in me, I feel like this achievement is also a tribute to them,” Đina expressed from Debrecen.
Commenting on the match against Serbia…
“The start was quite tough, filled with mixed emotions… I think we excelled in defense, and I believe that nothing got past us thanks to Armel Atingre’s defense,” Đurđina noted.
Looking ahead, the “lionesses” will face another match in Debrecen on Sunday against Romania, who triumphed over the Czech Republic today (29:28).
“We have a little time to celebrate, but preparation for Romania begins tomorrow… We have an intense match ahead and need to stay grounded; the tournament is long with many games to come,” Đurđina Jauković concluded.
