The Nikšić Home for the Elderly has received a generous donation exceeding 40 thousand euros from Japan, designated for the acquisition of a fully equipped ambulance with state-of-the-art technology. This donation is part of the “POPOS Kusanone” initiative, for which the Home submitted an application last year. The agreement was formalized by Imamura Akira, the Ambassador of Japan to Montenegro, along with Damir Gutić, the Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography, and Jelena Banjević, the Acting Director of the Public Institution “Nikšić” Home for the Elderly.
“To the delight of our staff and especially our residents, we are finalizing the project for which we sought funding in 2024, valued at over 40,000 euros for an ambulance that will be outfitted with the most advanced equipment necessary for carrying out all required medical procedures. This enhancement will significantly improve the quality of medical services and care provided to our residents and facilitate our employees’ work. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the representatives of Japan and the Japanese people for this invaluable and significant donation to our Institution,” stated Banjević.
The “POPOS” projects are designed to deliver one-time, non-repayable assistance aimed at fulfilling the essential and urgent needs of the community.
