Last night, the water polo team from Primorje faced a defeat against Olympiakos (18:9) in the fourth round of the Champions League.
This marks Kotor’s fourth loss in the competition, with two rounds remaining. It is evident that Vjekoslav Pasković’s squad will transition to the Eurocup after the group stage, commencing from the round of 16.
“We cannot be pleased with our performance in the Champions League. Since the tournament began, we have allowed an unacceptable number of goals at this level. Against a team like Olympiakos, any mistake is capitalized on. In our first match in Athens, this wasn’t visible, but tonight we learned that even the slightest error can be severely punished,” remarked Primorje player Dušan Matković following the contest with the Athenians.
Before the group stage concludes, Primorje will host Savona and also welcome Sabadelj.
“We must learn from our mistakes. This team lacks experience in such matches, and I hope this will serve as a valuable lesson for future games,” Matković added.
