Alphonso Davies Signs Contract Extension with Bayern Munich
Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich has signed an extension to his contract, which now runs until June 2030.
At 24 years old, Davies’ previous contract was set to expire at the conclusion of this season.
Max Eberl, a board member, commented, “Fonzi has been with Bayern since the age of 18 and has quickly ingrained himself in the club. We view him as a key member of the new generation of our team, which is assuming greater responsibility. Having grown up here, he will continue to develop alongside the team.”
Negotiations between the club and Davies faced delays due to interest from Real Madrid in acquiring the player.
Davies shared his thoughts, stating, “I joined Bayern when I was 18 with the goal of learning as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position. I’m excited about the years ahead together. I’ve achieved a lot here, but there are more milestones to reach.”
Throughout his time at Bayern, he has played 220 matches, netting 12 goals and assisting 34 times. He has also secured five league titles, two domestic cups, and the prestigious Champions League title.
On the international stage, he has represented the Canadian national team 56 times, scoring 15 goals.
