“We Turned Off the Lights and Heard Knocking at the Door: A Cetinja Killer’s Attempt to Resume the Bloody Pir? – News”
Despair, tears, and sorrow engulfed Cetinje following a horrific crime that claimed the lives of 12 individuals. On January 1st, Aco Martinović unleashed a brutal rampage, taking the lives of friends, godparents, and even his biological sister.
Today, the community mourns Zorica Vuletić, a young mother of two infants, who was ruthlessly slain by someone who threatened to kill her loved ones if they attempted to intervene. Those we spoke with expressed their horror at the atrocity that has shaken the entire region to its core. Many are reluctant to even mention the perpetrator, focusing instead on the tragic loss, while shaking their heads in disbelief at the grim details of the massacre that have cast a shadow over the area.
Eyewitnesses to Aco Martinović’s crime insist that he had no intention of stopping his bloody spree. After taking his sister’s life in cold blood, he simply uttered three chilling words: “You know why,” indicating that his violent intentions were premeditated.
According to neighbors who spoke with our reporters, after killing Zorica, Martinović moved from house to house.
“We locked the door, we heard gunshots at our door. We pleaded with the police, asking if we could defend ourselves since we felt abandoned,” recounted shaken citizens of Cetinje, who are still struggling to overcome the trauma.
It is worth noting that Martinović started his rampage at Velest’s café, where he murdered his first four victims and wounded three others. Those killed included Branislav MuDresh (60), Radomir Marković (70), Miloš Martinović (39), and Mirko Vuletić (45), while MV, AM, and DK suffered injuries.
From there, he proceeded to the settlement of Humca, driving a “Fiat Stilo,” and parked in front of the home of his next victims, his godparents. The first to die in the home was Joša Otašević (55), who was in the residence of Marko Martinović, whose twin brother had been killed earlier at the café. After Otašević, he also killed Martinović in the yard and injured his wife, Mary M. (45), who managed to shield her child with her body while fleeing from the impending threat.
Continuing his murderous spree, he went to the parental home of the Martinović brothers, claiming the lives of their father and mother, Radovan (70) and Radmil Martinović (63). Investigators found Radovan Martinović dead in an armchair in the living room, while his wife was discovered in the hallway of their home.
In a soulless act in the settlement of Humci, he also murdered the Vuletić brothers—nine-year-old Vukan and his five-year-old brother Jovan. He then went to house number 7, where he killed his sister, 42-year-old Zorica Vuletić. Following this, he approached a second residence, and when his wife Dragana Drasković opened the door, he shot her as well.
