Buducnost Advances to Playoff Semifinals, Galeb Heads to Play-In Round
The volleyball teams of Galeb and Budućnost Volley concluded the league stage of the competition with impressive wins against Lovćen and Sutjeska, respectively. The match for the third spot in the EPCG Super League standings between Jedinstvo and Mornar is scheduled for next week. Budva had a bye this round, ensuring their direct advancement to the play-off semi-finals with a perfect record of 12 wins.
Galeb triumphed over Lovćen with a score of 3:0 in Cetinje (25:17, 25:20, 25:15), which allowed them to secure the second-to-last position in the standings, granting them a slot in the play-in competition. Under the guidance of coach Vladan Jovanović, the team performed admirably in the capital city of Montenegro, with captain Vasilije Božović shining brightly by contributing an impressive 27 points. For Lovćen, Strahinja Martinović was notable, scoring 11 points.
Budućnost defeated Sutjeska 3:0 (25:20, 25:23, 25:12) and thereby advanced to the semi-finals of the EPCG Super League playoffs alongside Budva. In this match, both Ivan Zvicer and Luka Lojic scored 13 points each, while middle blocker Adnan Silajdzic added to the tally with 10 points. The standout player for the home team was Dragan Stojanović, who also scored 13 points.
In the final match of the regular season, Jedinstvo and Mornar will compete for the third place in the standings, aiming for a better seed going into the playoffs.
