Montenegro Anticipates Fifth Pot Rivals in Nyon Draw
The draw for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers is scheduled for tomorrow in Nyon, as announced by the European Football Association.
Montenegro will be part of pot five, which also features Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Luxembourg.
The nine group winners, along with the best second-placed team, will secure direct qualification for the final tournament set to take place in Albania and Serbia in 2027.
The remaining eight runners-up will compete in play-offs for four additional places in the finals.
The new qualification cycle is set to commence in March of this year and will conclude in October 2026.
Here is the composition of the pots:
First pot: Spain, England, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, France, Ukraine, Italy, Denmark.
Second pot: Romania, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Georgia, Republic of Ireland.
Third pot: Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Slovakia, Greece, Iceland, Hungary, Bulgaria.
Fourth pot: Scotland, Wales, Israel, North Macedonia, Turkey, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Faroe Islands, Moldova.
Fifth pot: Belarus, MONTENEGRO, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg.
Sixth pot: Estonia, Malta, Armenia, Andorra, Gibraltar, San Marino.
