In the Initiative “Respect Your Life, Surrender Weapons,” Citizens Hand in 33 Firearms in Just 3 Days – News Update
During the recent initiative, the Management Board of Montenegro has successfully facilitated the return of firearms, collecting a total of 19 pistols, 14 rifles, and 496 ammunition pieces, along with various weapon parts, as announced by the Montenegrin police today.
The officers from the Regional Security Center “Center” in Podgorica voluntarily surrendered eight handguns, two rifles, and 197 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, four pistols, four rifles, and 25 rounds were submitted in Cetinje, along with four rifles, two pistols, and 242 rounds of ammunition, including three gun frames and spare barrel parts.
Furthermore, officials from the Regional Security Center “North” in Bijelo Polje and Berane handed over two handguns, two spare frames, and a total of 32 rounds of ammunition.
At the Regional Security Center “West,” citizens returned two handguns, while the Regional Security Center “South” received two rifles, as mentioned in the Montenegrin police statement.
The Montenegrin police urged all citizens to assist in enhancing societal security by surrendering any firearms, ammunition, or explosives they may possess, without fear of legal, criminal, or civil liability, regardless of whether these items are illegally or legally owned.
