Jelena Karleuša

Jelena Karleuša encountered issues regarding her planned performance in Montenegro during the holiday season, primarily due to incitements of hate towards the Serbian people and reactions concerning Kosovo and Metohija. Consequently, she was obliged to cancel her appearance at a hotel to avoid jeopardizing anyone’s safety, including her own.

The singer has now reached out to her fans who were awaiting her performance, expressing her regrets about the current situation.

– Regrettably, I had to cancel my scheduled guest appearance in Podgorica due to the harsh political interference affecting my performance. I sincerely hope that the wonderful, fraternal people of Montenegro will not permit various political factions in their country to target singers from Serbia. It saddens me to witness how my homeland is being attacked, supporting territorial expansion while voting against my country and its people, and then expressing anger when someone questions: “Why, brothers?” – she conveyed on Instagram.

Karleuša additionally stated:

– I canceled the performance because I do not accept disrespect towards my country, nor insults directed at me, as I stand as proof that not everything is about money – she emphasized, among other points.
