The final tournament for the Cup of Montenegro in water polo will be held in Nikšić on Friday and Saturday, according to an announcement from the Water Polo Swimming Association.

On Friday at 17:30, the first semi-final will feature Jadran taking on Budućnost, followed by Primorac facing Kataro two hours later.

The final match is set for Saturday at 20:00.

Vladimir Gojković, returning to coach Jadran, expressed that the team from Herzegovina has high ambitions for the Montenegrin Cup.

“We respect the Budućnost team, but I believe we are the clear favorites. We have prepared well and know what to expect, and we are confident that we will make it to Saturday’s final,” stated Gojković during the press conference.

He assured that Jadran will not underestimate their opponents and will approach the match against Budućnost with seriousness.

“Preparation and an understanding of the game are crucial. This is the only way to honor our role as favorites and to meet our goal of winning the trophy,” Gojković reiterated.

Budućnost’s coach, Aleksandar Aleksić, noted that this will be his team’s first appearance in the final tournament of the Cup of Montenegro.

“Jadran is the absolute favorite, and this match is important for us as it will help us gain experience for the upcoming challenges in the Regional A1 League. While we cannot threaten Jadran directly, we will implement the strategies we’ve been working on to the best of our ability,” Aleksić commented.

Primorje’s coach, Vjekoslav Pasković, mentioned that their goal this season was to win both the championship and the Cup of Montenegro.

“We are in great form, and I believe that the tournament in Nikšić will prove we have what it takes to secure our first trophy this season. The outcome will come down to our team’s unity and spirit,” Pasković said.

Ivan Bjelobrković, coach of Kataro, emphasized the importance of enjoyment and effort for his players in their upcoming match against their city rivals.

“Let’s not focus on the result. Our aim is to make the game as engaging as possible. This is an opportunity for the younger players to demonstrate their capabilities,” Bjelobrković noted.

The final match will take place on Saturday at 20:00.

Jadran is looking to defend their title after winning last year’s final against Primorac from Kotor with a score of 15:10 (5:3, 3:3, 4:2, 3:2), marking the 14th time they secured the Montenegrin Cup in the club’s history.
