Bojić, Pavićević, and Cimbaljević Steer Their Teams as Peruničić Anticipates His Debut
Over the weekend, several players from the Montenegrin national team stood out with impressive performances for their respective clubs. Marko Bojić and Milutin Pavićević were particularly notable, while Vukašin Cimbaljević dazzled against Croatian champions alongside his national teammates, Peruničić and Delić, who both reached double figures in scoring.
Veteran serve receiver Marko Bojić showcased his abilities as if he were at the peak of his career. Leading Tursad to their first victory in two months, Bojić scored an impressive 19 points as they triumphed 3:2 on the road against bottom-placed Akus Belediye. This win ended a seven-game losing streak and helped distance them from the relegation zone.
Mladost Zagreb continues to dominate in Croatia. Our national team players Đorđe Jovović and Nikola Đurović celebrated in the local Super League derby against Ribola Kaštela, where Vukašin Cimbaljević notably scored 21 points. Despite Kaštela’s loss to their main rival 3:1, Jovović contributed nine points across three sets, and Đurović played in the last two sets, contributing to Mladost’s 10th championship victory.
Meanwhile, young volleyball talent Srđan Petrović’s club, Marsonia, is well-positioned for a playoff spot in the Super League. They secured a 3:1 victory against Varaždin, with Petrović scoring four points in their sixth win of the season against a close competitor in the standings.
Milutin Pavićević has emerged as a significant force for Karađorđe. In the 14th round of the Serbian Super League, he led his team from Topola to a 3:1 win over Partizan, contributing 15 points to the victory.
In the Serbian championship, Red Star, under head coach Ivica Jevtić, faced another defeat as they were edged out by Radnički 3:2 in a pivotal match. Both Red Star and Pavićević’s team share a 9-5 record, while Red Star remains just a win behind leader Vojvodina.
Another of our volleyball players, Matija Ćinćur of Alpacem Kanal, experienced success recently as his team returned to winning form in the Slovenian championship, defeating Krk 3:0.
In a match against the team currently second to last in the playoff standings, Ćinćur played in the second and third sets, contributing to the overall performance even though he didn’t score points. His effort was crucial against ACH Volley, Slovenia’s top team, with Alpacem managing to win one set, while the Ljubljana team conceded only their third – Ćinćur tallied eight points, half of them from blocks.
Czech club Usti has brought in our national team player, Nemanja Peruničić, in hopes of rejuvenating their season. He made a strong debut alongside Blažo Milić; however, Usti lost 3:1 to Odolena Voda, despite Peruničić scoring a commendable 14 points, with Milić contributing seven.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Premier League, Jovan Delić’s team, Domaljevac, continued their winning streak with a fifth consecutive victory, defeating Kakanj 3:1, with Delić providing 13 points for the team’s success.
In Romania’s Division A1, Craiova, coached by Bojan Strugar, faced a setback in the playoff derby, losing 3:1 to Zalau in an intense match where the home team triumphed 36:34 in the fourth set. Strugar played in the initial two sets but was unable to score points.
