The Red Star basketball team triumphed over Asvel with a score of 73:66 (19:18, 17:13, 20:17, 17:18) in a home game in Belgrade tonight, part of the Euroleague’s 25th round.

All players on the Red Star roster contributed to the score, with Isaiah Kenan leading the charge with 11 points. Cody Miller-McIntyre added 10 points along with five assists and four rebounds, while Nikola Kalinic also netted 10 points. Joel Bolomboy’s contributions included seven points and an impressive 10 rebounds.

For Asvel, Theo Maledon was the standout scorer with 13 points, complemented by six rebounds and five assists. Benjamin Bentil provided 12 points and four rebounds to the team.

Nando de Colo added nine points, while Neil Sacco and Geoffrey Lauvergne each scored eight points for the French side.

Asvel initially took the lead, but Red Star maintained pressure and refused to let them extend their advantage. Midway through the quarter, a sequence that included points from Lauvergne and a three-pointer from Paris Li propelled Asvel to a 14:9 lead.

The home team rallied, eventually taking a 19:18 lead thanks to contributions from Dejan Davidovac, Bolomboy, and Jago Dos Santos.

Red Star kicked off the second quarter with a three-pointer from Kenan, followed by successful shots from Filip Petrushev. This prompted a strong run, and Red Star surged ahead with Luka Mitrović’s accuracy and three-pointers from Nemanja Nedović and Dos Santos, establishing a 34:23 lead.

However, after a brief stall, Asvel responded with an 8:0 run to close within three points (34:31). Kenan’s shot before halftime restored a five-point advantage for Red Star.

The third quarter began positively for Red Star, with points from Miller-McIntyre and Nedović helping them secure a 12-point lead (45:33), while Maledon and De Colo kept Asvel in contention.

As the visiting team narrowed the gap to four points thanks to Sako’s points, Kenan halted their momentum with a crucial three-pointer. Bolomboy and Kalinic also contributed, and despite Bentil’s three-pointer on the other side, Red Star maintained a 56:48 lead going into the final quarter.

Rokas Gedraitis and Miller-McIntyre restored the double-digit margin, with Kenan hitting a three-pointer that pushed the lead to 14 points at 66:52.

Asvel attempted to claw back, with Sako scoring six points and Maledon following up with a basket and an additional free throw that brought the margin down to five points.

A basket from Miller-McIntyre ended the scoring spree of the visitors. Red Star preserved their lead, clinching their 15th victory and rising to fifth place in the standings.

Asvel currently sits in 14th place with an 11-14 record.

In the upcoming round, Red Star will host Alba on Thursday, while Asvel will face Bayern in Munich.
