By the end of the month, working groups will be formed to establish an airline service connecting Podgorica and Sofia, along with enhancing collaboration between the tourism ministries of Montenegro and Bulgaria aimed at a collective approach to distant markets, as announced by Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić.
During a meeting with Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro, Stefan Dimitrov, she stated that preparations should be finalized ahead of EXPO 2025 in Japan.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that Dimitrov shared positive feedback following the Montenegrin delegation’s visit to Sofia, where an agreement in principle was reached to launch the new airline route.
“I am eager to further our collaboration. We are on the right track, which will enhance both our bilateral relations and the tourism offerings in the region,” stated Dimitrov.
Kordić also highlighted that her official visit to New York revealed an increased interest in Montenegro among tourists and recognized a chance for improved positioning if the region works together to target distant markets like the US.
