“We Did All We Could”
The Montenegrin handball team is on the brink of elimination, having played their second match of the European Championship in less than 24 hours and facing their second defeat in the main round.
Today, they were overwhelmed by France with a score of 31:23, following last night’s loss to Hungary…
“Recovering in such a short period was challenging. For a team like France, it’s easier since they have a larger player rotation, which was evident. This has been tough on us, both physically and mentally. What’s done is done. We’ll keep going; we couldn’t have done more than this, but we gave it our all,” stated Itana Grbić in an interview with RTCG.
The only hope left for “Lice” to advance to the semi-finals lies in theory.
“Our aim is to secure that placement in Vienna, and potentially compete for fifth place. We will focus on resting as much as we can and prepare for the final two opponents whom we are familiar with“ emphasized Grbić.
