“Meet Dejan Kokotović: The 13th Victim of the Cetinje Massacre – A Father’s Heartbreaking Battle for His Four Children”
Dejan Kokotović (40) is the 13th victim of the tragic shooting in Cetinje. He passed away at the Clinical Center in Podgorica after fighting for nearly eight days.
Kokotović sustained injuries to his stomach, thorax, and head during the attack perpetrated by Martinović, and received treatment for his chest and head wounds that same night at the Clinical Center.
His wife was left devastated by his loss; the couple, who had been married since 2015, welcomed three sons and had a daughter just a year ago, completing their family happiness.
Just one day before the horrific rampage committed by Aco Martinović, the family was in high spirits, celebrating the New Year and the love they shared.
Kokotović shared a photo of them together on Facebook, where his wife expressed her pride in their family’s joy.
“This was a good year. Healthy, happy, satisfied, and fulfilling. One great wish is for the three most beautiful ornaments and the one brightest star that exists. In the coming years, I just want us to be healthy and happy. Long live,” his wife wrote on Facebook.
On January 1st, at 17:26, Aco Martinović opened fire in the “Velvestovo” café, killing four people before continuing his bloody spree across Cetinje. In just over half an hour, he claimed the lives of 12 individuals — seven men, three women, and two children.
Aco Martinović murdered Mark and Miloš Martinović along with their parents Radovan and Radmil, leaving Mark’s wife severely injured. Other victims included Jošašević, Branislav MuDhesh, Radivoj Mirković, Mirko Vuletić, and his underage brothers, John and Vukan Vuletić. He also took the life of his own sister, Zorica Vuletić, and his final victim, Dragan Drasković. After attempting to escape and hide, he shot himself in the head when police located him, succumbing to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
