Jugopetrol has initiated preparatory activities for the reconstruction of oil derivative storage terminals in Bar, with an investment valued at nine million euros.
This initiative aims to decrease carbon emissions and enhance gas station operations, marking a vital advancement towards a sustainable and environmentally-conscious future. “This further reinforces the company’s dedication to improving environmental protection and embracing innovation within Montenegro’s energy sector,” the company stated.
The project will feature the installation of a vapor recovery system, utilizing cutting-edge technology from France that has successfully demonstrated its effectiveness across Europe and nearby regions.
Vasilis Panagopulos, the Executive Director of Jugopetrol, revealed that the reconstruction plan includes a new loading plant with three filling positions, designed to facilitate a quicker and more efficient loading process, as reported by Mine.
“This initiative goes beyond advancing energy efficiency and promoting a greener future; it also exemplifies socially responsible and effective business practices,” emphasized Panagopulos.
Additionally, the modernization of the pumping station is on the agenda, which will involve installing ten new pumps to greatly enhance loading efficiency and ensure a proper response during peak demand periods.
Besides the terminal’s renovation and modernization, the vapor recovery system installation is a crucial element of this project.
“This system is engineered to capture and process emissions throughout the distribution timeline, significantly aiding in diminishing the ecological footprint and improving air quality for the local community,” the company elaborated.
Through the adoption of new technological solutions during the vapor recovery process, this project aims to facilitate enhanced service and decrease pollution levels not just in Bar, but across the entire state.
Panagopulos highlighted that the marine purification systems have operated effectively for several years, reiterating Jugopetrol’s commitment to fostering sustainable solutions and adhering to the highest environmental standards per regulatory guidelines.
Moreover, Jugopetrol actively supports various social initiatives throughout Montenegro, investing over 2.5 million euros in education, health, and sports, claims the company. These contributions aid in the development of local communities and the enhancement of quality of life nationwide.
“Jugopetrol is a trustworthy investor in the country, having invested more than 75 million euros since 2003. We are dedicated to expanding and improving our operations in line with the latest technological advancements and industry standards, ensuring a consistent supply of top-quality products to the market,” Panagopulos remarked.
