Famous Mom Captures Unusual Moment: Rožaj Drivers Forced to Break the Ice – News
The entire region became acquainted with Tamaru Garović, a mother of seven from the village of Baška near Rožaj, who runs a large household along with her husband. In a short span, she has amassed significant popularity on social media, attracting tens of thousands of followers. Despite her upbeat demeanor, this first rural influencer in Montenegro grapples with various life challenges in the countryside. The access road is in such disrepair that every pothole, frozen over, poses a risk to vehicles. The Garović family has had to navigate these deep holes for fifteen days straight, having already replaced the wheel joints twice.
“Snow has been falling, and no one comes to plow. We could barely reach the church. There wasn’t a single tire track on the road. The ice was more than twenty centimeters thick. There’s a fountain right next to the road, and the water flowing from it freezes overnight, creating a thick layer of ice. Instead of a clear path, we end up with a skating rink most of the time,” Tamara shared with Rin.
This situation links four larger villages in the Rozaj area: Bašča, BLIŽICA, LUČE, and Grahovača.

“The drivers on that stretch have had to get out of their cars and break the ice with hatches to prevent their tires from grabbing and damaging the undercarriage. We waited for the toll workers to come and clear the ice. We hope they won’t take as long this time, leaving people to risk their safety,” Tamara added.
While conditions in the village may not be ideal, much like the aging road that poses challenges to all locals, Tamara, known as a dedicated homemaker, celebrates Christmas in accordance with tradition and customs.
