The SC Derbija basketball team is set to face Partizan in Belgrade tomorrow (20) as part of the 19th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.

The “Students” recent two-game winning streak was halted with a loss to Zadar in their last match, yet they have managed to distance themselves from the lower end of the standings. Now, they will head to Belgrade to take on a Euroleague team, providing an opportunity for Petar Mijović’s young squad to leave a positive mark.

“This is undoubtedly one of the toughest matches we’ve faced so far. Partizan is the clear favorite, no question about it. They are in excellent form, playing top-tier basketball under a skilled coach. Our challenge is to match their level; we understand that our performance will largely hinge on their attitude and commitment. Nonetheless, I am hopeful that we can meet our expectations for this match and compete at the necessary level. Our aim in such high-stakes games is to gain valuable insights and come away improved,” remarked SC Derbija coach Petar Mijović regarding the upcoming game.

The team is eager to deliver their best performance against a formidable opponent.

“We have a game ahead that we can benefit immensely from if we approach it correctly. There’s little need to elaborate on Partizan; we know their caliber—they are a team with ambitions at the pinnacle of the Euroleague. Right now, our primary focus should be on showing utmost responsibility and concentration in our one-on-one defense. The motivation for this match is strong, and it’s crucial that we enter the game with courage and determination, applying what we’ve been training for in recent days,” expressed SC Derbija player Andrija Grbović.
