Pavicevic: Communicating with Walls or Engaging Players?
Mornar faced yet another disappointing loss, and following the defeat against Mega (113:83), coach Mihailo Pavićević remarked on a known truth – the Barani are struggling, with only one victory in 19 rounds of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
“This is nothing new – I believe this marks our fourth consecutive game of allowing over 100 points. Our defense is nonexistent… My assistants are questioning whether we’ve overlooked anything in our game preparation or if there’s something we failed to communicate. It’s as if we’re talking to walls or to the players – the outcome is the same! There’s no impact on the court,” expressed Pavicević.
The team is at the bottom…
“The situation is critically dire. We have a match against Borac coming up, and then we’ll take a break. If we want to survive, we must make some changes,” Pavićević stated.
It’s evident that some players will be leaving the club.
“There’s no sense in retaining players who are undeservedly receiving their salaries. If necessary, we will finish the season with our juniors. Young Komnenović delivered three exceptional assists tonight – he was the only one to shine in this match. This situation is unsustainable. Whether before or after the match with Borac, we will definitely be making some cuts,” Pavicević announced.
