Citizens Primarily Engage with Informative, Political, and Entertainment Content, Alongside Sports Shows
In Montenegro, the majority of citizens tune into news and political programming (33 percent), followed closely by entertainment shows (29.6 percent). Sports content is consumed by 15.4 percent of the audience, as reported by the Center for Civic Education (CCE).
Documentaries (7.1 percent), chronicles (6.1 percent), and cultural programs (5.2 percent) attract a considerably smaller viewership, while educational content (2.1 percent) ranks at the lowest end of the spectrum.
According to the CCE, these insights stem from research conducted as part of the project “Media for Democracy: Strengthening the Independence of RTCG for the Future of Montenegro.” This initiative is being carried out by the NGO with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The research was conducted from December 16 to 23, 2024, using the CAPI method on a stratified random sample of 1,022 adult respondents.
CCE indicates that the DAMAR Institute provided expert assistance in carrying out the research.
