Suspect Arrested for Assaulting Common-Law Wife with Knife, Detained for Up to 72 Hours
The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Podgorica has ordered the detention of AT for a maximum of 72 hours on suspicion of committing domestic or family violence.
“On February 1, at approximately two o’clock, in the residence they share, the suspect, while under the influence, violently kicked and punched his common-law wife multiple times, using both his hands and feet, resulting in several physical injuries,” the ODT reported.
Furthermore, it was stated that AT forcefully grasped his common-law wife’s neck, leading to her difficulty in breathing.
“After she managed to escape and contact the police, he retrieved a knife from the kitchen and threatened her with it, instilling significant fear for her safety,” the statement continued.
