Constitutive Session in Budva Disrupted by Incidents – Breaking News
The inaugural session of the Municipal Assembly of Budva was suspended after members of the “For the Future of Budva” coalition and the Democrats entered the hall, stating they would not permit the meeting to proceed.
Councilors from the “For the Future of Budva,” Democratic Montenegro, and PES previously declared that they would not allow the local parliament session, emphasizing that it constituted a significant procedural violation.
The three political groups and their supporters assert that the procedure was breached since the chairman, Savo Medigović, who was elected from the “Budva Our City” list, resigned just 20 minutes into the session.
They argued that Medigović could no longer preside over the assembly and that the role should be taken over by Krsta Radjenović from the Socialist People’s Party (SNP).
Significant police presence was observed outside the Municipality of Budva, as reported by the analytical portal.
Inside one section of the Municipality building, supporters of the “Budva Our City” list were seen, and reports indicated they gathered in the Mayor of Budva’s office located on that floor.
During the first session of the Municipal Assembly (SO), the mandates of the newly elected councilors were officially confirmed.
Petar Odžić from the SDP / European Alliance is set to be the candidate for the President of the Local Parliament, as proposed by 11 councilors from the “Budva Our City,” European Alliance, and GP Hour groups.
