Andrija Klikovac, a representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists in the Capital City Assembly, stated that the city’s administration intends to raise the prices of services from municipal companies Čistoća and Deponija. He questioned whether Prime Minister Milojko Spajić would urge citizens to boycott payment for these services.
His comments referenced Spajić’s previous support for a boycott of retail chains.
“Following the 41 percent increase in water prices by PES in Podgorica, plans are now in place to boost the cleaning and landfill service fees in the upcoming months,” Klikovac expressed.
“Will Milojko Spajić encourage the residents of Podgorica to refuse payment for the services from these companies that are raising their prices due to the Europe Now program?” Klikovac posted on the social network Iks.
Recently, Miloš Mašković, a Social Democrat councilor in the Capital City Assembly, revealed that Nadja Liljanić, Deputy Mayor of Podgorica, acknowledged a forthcoming rise in garbage collection fees by Čistoća. He questioned why residents should “bear the costs for poor governance and inadequate planning by a person under whose leadership the city faced its dirtiest period in recent history.”
