Recently, after securing the Cup trophy, Primorac reaffirmed its dominance in Montenegro. However, in the regional Premier League, things aren’t progressing as anticipated.
As the season reaches its midway point, the Kotor water polo powerhouse has accumulated four wins against seven losses. With one match remaining, they find themselves ten points away from the final four places, trailing behind their fierce competitor, Jadran Mtel, whom they had previously conquered in the Cup just ten days ago.
A new setback unfolded in Kragujevac, where Vjekoslav Pasković’s squad fell to Radnički with a score of 14:12. Following the match, Draško Brguljan, the seasoned former captain of Montenegro and Primorac’s most experienced player, candidly shared his thoughts.
“Regrettably, we seem to be repeating certain mistakes. We need to be honest and fair with ourselves, examining how we treat one another and our conduct from practice to matches. Entering games with such a nonchalant attitude and making foolish mistakes isn’t reflective of the caliber expected in this league,” Brguljan expressed.
He continued with similar sentiments…
“Moreover, we have six players who have received invitations to the Montenegrin national team, which should be viewed as an honor and privilege, not an excuse to take things lightly. I genuinely believe we have the potential to perform at a much higher level. The first half of the season has been unsatisfactory except for a handful of matches, and I truly hope we can improve in the upcoming period,” stated the water polo player who celebrated a European championship with Primorje in 2009.
Discussing the game in Kragujevac, he remarked:
“Radnički played better; they are an excellent team, and there’s no shame in losing to them. They boast several Olympic champions within their ranks. Although they’ve had some poor performances, they are a top-tier team and are sure to improve soon,” Brguljan concluded.
