Once a member of the championship Budućnost team at the dawn of the new millennium and a representative of Montenegro, Ivica Jevtić is now poised to return as the new coach of our volleyball team.
The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro has confirmed that Jevtić has been appointed for a four-year term (3+1), making him the eighth coach to lead our volleyball players since the reinstatement of independence.
Previously part of the coaching staff under renowned Montenegrin coach Igor Kolaković with the Serbian national team (2022-24), Jevtić also had experience coaching the Montenegro under-22 volleyball team. He had played under Kolaković during his time with Budućnost.
Throughout his playing career, Jevtić represented various teams including Mladi Radnik (Serbia), Hypo Tirol (Austria), Mers (Germany), Qatar SC (Qatar), and Pisgaman (Iran). Before taking this new role, he was recognized for leading Red Star to the Serbian championship title last season and the Supercup of Serbia this season, as noted by the OSCG.
He will take over the coaching position from Ivan Joksimović, whose contract was not renewed following a disappointing performance in the Eurovolley qualifiers against Norway and the Czech Republic.
Earlier today, the OSCG also appointed Jov Caković as the head coach of the women’s national team.
