Montenegrin Volleyball Team Welcomes New Coach
The coach who achieved a triple crown in Serbia last season, and who also found success with the younger squads of that nation, will now take charge of the Montenegro team.
Jovo Caković has been appointed as the new head coach for our volleyball players, marking the seventh such appointment since the country regained its independence, as announced by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro.
“Caković is a former coach of Jedinstva from Stara Pazova, where he secured the triple crown in Serbia during the previous season (championship, cup, and supercup). He also led Jedinstva to the Serbian championship title in the 2022/23 season and triumphed in the Serbian Cup and Super Cup in the 2016/17 season,” the OSCG stated.
Further details on his coaching achievements were highlighted.
“As the coach of the Serbian women’s volleyball team, he earned a silver medal at the European Under-18 Championship and a bronze at the Under-17 Championship held in 2020 in Podgorica,” the OSCG mentioned.
Caković takes over from Milorad Krunić and is expected to lead the team in the upcoming Eurovolley qualifiers next summer, where our volleyball players have faced Latvia but managed to secure a point (3:2), which could be critical for their campaign towards the European Championship.
