The announcement made at the close of 2024 has now been confirmed: Montenegrin football sensation Andrija Bulatović has officially signed with the French club Lens, according to reports from Fabricio Romano.
The promising young player will stay with Budućnost on loan until the season concludes. Although Dinamo Zagreb showed interest in Bulatović, the French Ligue 1 team succeeded in persuading him that the “Felix Bolear” stadium was the ideal place for him to progress in his career.
Romano previously indicated that the transfer deal would be around two million euros.
Bulatović, who operates as a midfielder, previously played for Berane, Kom, and Rudar, joining Budućnost on July 1 of last year. His development has been notable, as he has represented all ages in Montenegro, advancing from the pioneer to the cadet and youth levels, and has already earned four caps for the national youth team.
Montenegrin international Anto Drobnjak had a stint with Lens during the 1997/1998 season, during which the French club secured the championship title.
Lens made their return to the top tier of French football in 2020, achieving a second-place finish in the 2022/2023 season, just one point behind PSG, and they competed in the Champions League during the 2023/2024 season.
