The total length of streets, local roads, and uncategorized roads in the Municipality of Kolašin, as per the new road registry, exceeds 586 kilometers.
This registry is a crucial element of the draft Decision on Municipal and Uncategorized Roads, which is presently undergoing public consultation.
According to the registry, there are approximately 27.5 kilometers of roads in Kolašin located within the detailed urban plans (DUP) for the Center, Sports and Industrial Zone, Smailagića Polje, Radigojno, and Breza. In the surrounding areas, specifically in the settlements of Drijenka, Babljak, Rogobore, Dulovine, Bakovići, Gornji Pažanj, and Selišta, there exists 17.7 kilometers of municipal roads.
The total stretch of local roads across several dozen villages is nearly 176 kilometers, while uncategorized roads account for about 364 kilometers. The longest of these uncategorized roads runs from the village to Štavnje (continuation with L8) and spans approximately 15 kilometers.
Maintaining the extensive network of roads in urban areas, suburban neighborhoods, and rural regions poses a significant and ongoing challenge for local authorities. The effectiveness of road maintenance and the financing allocated for these projects have faced consistent criticism from the opposition. In the past two years, over 1.5 million euros have been dedicated to the reconstruction of road infrastructure.
The municipal road plan for this year, covering roads in the city, villages, and suburban settlements, is expected to allocate around 600,000 euros. This budget also includes 180,000 euros earmarked for improvements on Mirka Vešovića Street.
