The leadership of the Pljevlja Coal Mine has reported that following a vehicle fire two years ago, they are currently gathering statements from all individuals involved in the matter.

“Upon receiving notification regarding the incident involving the official vehicle of the Pljevlja Coal Mine, the management immediately requested all relevant information from the appropriate services. Statements are being collected from everyone connected to this incident, which will aid the competent service in preparing a comprehensive report. Following the directive from the executive director, police have been engaged to conduct a field investigation, and once all pertinent details concerning this incident have been compiled, accountability will be assessed and necessary actions will be taken as per the company’s internal regulations,” announced the management of the Pljevlja Coal Mine.

According to unofficial reports from “Vijesti,” a fire and explosion safety expert from Podgorica has been enlisted to investigate the cause of the vehicle fire.

It was reported yesterday by “Vijesti” that a “Renault Laguna,” owned by the Coal Mine, was engulfed in flames two days prior in the Pljevlja village of Rađevići.

This information was verified by the Coal Mine.

Unofficial sources indicate that the burned vehicle belonged to Dragoljub Krezović, the newly elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Coal Mine. Krezović is a colleague and friend of Milan Lekić, his predecessor, who remains employed at the company as a mining engineer.

Details about whether the fire was due to an electrical malfunction in the vehicle or if it resulted from a nearby meadow fire remain unclear. Available footage on social media suggests that a significant portion of the meadow caught fire as well.

The meadow where the vehicle burned is reportedly owned by Milan Lekić, according to unverified sources from “Vijesti.”

Two days ago, “Vijesti” was unable to reach Lekić as he was unavailable on the phone number previously used.

On October 11 of the prior year, Lekić was involved in an accident with his official Infiniti vehicle on Volođina Street in Pljevlja.

He was subsequently fined 750 euros by the Bijelo Polje Court for driving under the influence and causing an accident in Pljevlja, which resulted in considerable damage to the Coal Mine’s vehicle. After this incident, Lekić resigned from his position as president of the Board of Directors of the Coal Mine.
