Germany and France Set to Host EHF Euro 2032
The European Handball Federation (EHF) has made it official today that France and Germany will jointly host the 2032 European Men’s Championship.
This prestigious event is scheduled to occur from January 15 to February 1, across four venues in Germany and two in France.
“France will manage two groups during the preliminary phase, along with hosting the group that includes the French national team in the main round,” announced the French Handball Federation (FFHB) today.
The semi-finals and final matches will be conducted solely in Germany.
One of the venues for this championship will be the Defense Arena in Paris, which previously hosted the swimming tournament during the recent Olympic Games.
“The partnership between France and Germany is effective, and people generally trust our capability to organize a successful event,” said Philippe Bana, the president of the French Handball Federation.
In 2032, Germany, Denmark, and Poland will also co-host the European Women’s Championship, while Denmark, Poland, and the Czech Republic are set to host the European Men’s Championship in 2030.
The host for the European Women’s Championship in 2030 has not yet been disclosed, although the FFHB mentioned that France “may submit a joint application with another country if the EHF reopens the submission process.”
This year, Germany organized the European Men’s Handball Championship, while France held the Women’s European Championship back in 2018.
