Tomorrow, the Buducnost Bemaksa women’s basketball team will compete in Montana against the local team of the same name in the 14th round of the WABA League.

The women’s basketball team from Podgorica remains undefeated in this season of regional competition, while the Bulgarian vice-champion holds a record of eight wins against four losses.

Montana is eager for a victory to secure a spot in the final tournament, while the Montenegrin champions could solidify one of the top two positions with a win in Bulgaria, allowing them to relax as the league stage concludes.

Following victories over two Croatian teams (Trešnjevka and Zagreb) within four days, Buducnost now faces a series of challenging away games.

“We’re up against a tough opponent in Montana. They are a strong team, recently boosted by the addition of a Venezuelan national player. Montana is well-rounded in all positions, playing at a high level, making them a difficult challenge on their home court,” stated coach Petar Stojanović.

He noted that the Podgorica team understands what lies ahead, emphasizing the need to approach the match with intensity from the start, prepared to compete for the full 40 minutes.

“As we approach the final stretch of the league, we anticipate tougher challenges, but we embrace these matches as opportunities to showcase our growth and capabilities in high-stakes encounters,” Stojanović remarked.

Montana is coming off a significant victory against Beroe in a key Bulgarian basketball match, having secured six wins in their last seven games.

In their earlier meeting in Podgorica, the home team triumphed with a score of 75:68.

“We are fully aware that this will be our toughest away game to date. We are motivated and prepared to overcome a challenging environment, which would be immensely beneficial for us before the international break. We have familiarity with each other, and I believe we will maintain our solid performance in this face-off,” said shooting guard Jelena Bulajić.

The match at Mladost Hall is scheduled to tip-off at 17:00 p.m.
