The “Lionesses” Aim to Secure Their Spot in the Major Tournament with Two Matches Against Portugal

The Montenegrin women’s handball team is scheduled to face Portugal in the play-off for the World Championship, which will be held in Germany and the Netherlands in 2025.
In today’s draw in Vienna, Montenegro was selected from the top pot, with Portugal drawn from the second pot. The “lionesses” will host the first match on April 9 or 10, 2025, while the second leg will take place three days later in Montenegro.
The other playoff matchups include: Switzerland vs. Slovakia, Italy vs. Romania, Poland vs. North Macedonia, Sweden vs. Kosovo, Slovenia vs. Serbia, Faroe Islands vs. Lithuania, Czech Republic vs. Ukraine, Croatia vs. Spain, Austria vs. Turkey, and Iceland vs. Israel.
The hosts, Germany and the Netherlands, along with the reigning champions France and the European Championship semi-finalists Denmark, Norway, and Hungary, have secured their spots at the championship.
