Significant changes are underway at the Sutjeska basketball club midway through the season. Dragan Bajić has stepped down as head coach, and there is also a shift in the presidency.
The club announced that Bajić’s departure was due to personal reasons. He will be replaced by Boško Bošković, who has been a long-time member of the coaching staff in Nikšić and serves on the Montenegrin national team’s coaching staff.
“Basketball club Sutjeska wishes to inform the public that Dragan Bajić is no longer our head coach. Bajić left for personal reasons. During his time with the team, Dragan Bajić demonstrated professionalism, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. The club is pleased to announce that Boško Bošković, who has been part of our coaching staff for many years and is currently with the Montenegrin national basketball team, will take over coaching duties,” stated the club.
Bajić joined Nikšić this summer, signing a two-year contract. Unfortunately, he did not reach the finals of the NLB ABA2 League and, after three rounds in the First Montenegrin League, Sutjeska’s record stands at 15-12.
This is not the only modification happening in Nikšić, as the club will also elect a new president.
Saša Miličić will be succeeded by Aleksandar Popović, who is the Executive Manager of the Directorate for IMS and General Affairs at the Electric Power Company of Montenegro.
