With just two rounds remaining in the Eurocup group stage, Buducnost Voli finds themselves in control of their destiny. They are currently in the playoff zone, boasting eight wins against the same number of losses, and could make significant progress towards the playoffs this evening.

The Blues will host Juventud in the 17th round of the Eurocup at 7 PM, marking this as a crucial match for the Podgorica team. They are optimistic about their fans rallying behind them, hoping to transform them into their sixth player. The support from the crowd could turn all their goals into achievable targets.

This match gains added importance following yesterday’s outcomes. Ulm’s defeat to Bahçeşehir (85:81) and the Wolves’ victory over Trento (96:70) have positioned the German and Lithuanian teams in a tight spot at 9-8, a record Buducnost aims to match tonight.

If Buducnost achieves this in their final match against the Wolves, they will secure a playoff spot. Should both teams win, they could advance from fifth place, particularly as Ulm faces a challenging encounter with Hapoel in the concluding round.

Since their defeat against Gran Canaria on December 11th last year, the Montenegrin champions have been on an impressive winning streak. They have played 12 matches, winning 11 of them convincingly, with notable victories against Trento, Hapoel, Ulm in the Eurocup, and FMP in the AdmiralBet ABA League, many of which had thrilling endings. Their triumph over Partizan at the Belgrade Arena in this series served as a clear indication that this Buducnost team possesses both the character and quality to face any opponent.

Next up is a significant encounter against a Catalan team that has twice clinched the Eurocup title.

– This match carries immense importance, and we all understand its significance for us. Juventud is a seasoned team with skilled players; they recently managed to surprise Gran Canaria on their home court. This will undoubtedly be a tough contest – noted coach Andrej Zhakelj.

Juventud has already been eliminated from advancing to the round of 16.

– They possess a proficient playmaker that we need to neutralize, in addition to their tall players and sharp shooters. They are a formidable team. The key for us is to maintain high energy and focus. If those elements are strong, our tactics will succeed – Zhakelj emphasized.

The Slovenian coach hopes to see a packed “Morača”:

– I expect support from the fans, and I am hopeful we can celebrate together.

Alen Omic made headlines last weekend. He has emerged as the top rebounder in the AdmiralBet ABA League and currently holds the same record for the Eurocup, facing a team he once played for.

– It’s an incredible feeling. I’ve participated in both competitions for many years, and I’m thrilled to have achieved these statistics. I always strive to give my best and contribute to my team’s victories. Obviously, those efforts have paid off. Now let’s aim for another record, as we push hard for more victories – remarked Omić.

Juventud will arrive in Podgorica unburdened by pressure.

– They are a high-quality team with experienced players. They come here without much pressure regarding their results. This matchup is crucial for us; however, we are in good form and confident in our chances of winning – stated Omić.

He also urges fans to fill the arena.

– We’re currently in a favorable position within the Eurocup, determining our own pathway to advance, and potentially improving our standings. That’s why we need everyone at “Morača,” concluded the Podgorica center.
